Get together invitation

Sometimes it’s just nice to catch up with old family and friends. Particularly this is done before a major event or when two people haven’t seen each other for a very long time. A get together invitation should be short and to the point but still make the other person want to get together again. Just because you two used to be friends a long time ago doesn’t mean you both left on good terms, so this is a great way to catch up and see what someone has been up to.

Steps

Starting to Write

1

Greet the person and talk about how long it’s been since you two last hung out or had a get together.

2

Suggest a get together for some coffee or a movie.

3

Talk about recent events in your life in short (because you can save all the details for the get together) and ask what they have been up to.

4

Leave your contact details for them and ask for their contact details to keep in touch better.

Dear Joe,

It’s been too long since we’ve had a sit down and discussed what’s going on in your life. It’s been 5 years has it not? Man, I can’t believe it’s been that long and time has gone by that fast. It just shows you that life is short.

I’m actually going to be in New York soon so I was wondering if you wanted to get together and get some coffee or something and catch up sometime this week. I recently got married to the love of my life and actually took a job in Wisconsin for an IT company where I make a heap more money than I did working in that awful factory.

Anyays, if you want to get together, my number is 827-302-3918.

Sincerely,

Robert Allerson

Dear Alina,

Alina, I know it’s been 6 years since I’ve contacted you but I was just randomly going through my old yearbook and decided I would give you a call. It’s been so long and I would love it if we could meet up sometime and catch a movie or go out to eat and catch up.

I started my own company and it’s pretty moderately successful, at least to the point where I’ve had to hire 5 new employees to help keep track of the company and run it. I would at least call that a success but I’d like to know what’s been going on with you after all this time. Give me a call some time at 482-122-3947 and let me know what you think! All the best!

Sincerely,

James Paulson
