Congratulating someone on a job well done should be mandatory if you want the person who did the good job to keep up their performance to do the same in the future. However, you need to make sure that you don’t go overboard and set the employee into laziness. Congratulation on a job well done doesn’t only have to go to employees, it can also go to volunteers and people who have helped out with a cause as well. Don’t make the person feel like they have a personal stalker, just keep it short, sweet and to the point.
State whatever it is that the job was and why the job was well done.
What about the contribution or service was valued the most.
Talk about any future work the individual may have.
Thank the person.
Dear Rachel,
I am proud to report that upon reading your September report of the company financial quarterly, I am not only pleased with the results of the company but with the report as well. The way you outlined everything was exactly what I was looking for and a lot of employees miss that mark. Any future reports that you may write need to be formatted just like that and I hope you keep up the good work! Thank you a lot!
Sincerely,
Alixia
