A welcome letter is a letter sent to politely greet and introduce somebody to an organization. It could be sent to a new term of students at a school or college, someone recently given a job, or to attendees of a conference. Depending on the situation a letter of welcome may contain important information that a new person might not yet be aware of.
When sent to a new employee its main purpose is to let the new employee know that everyone is glad they are here, and to offer a support system in case they ever need any help. These letters are great for boosting employee morale and letting them know that they are now part of a team.
Politely thank or congratulate the recipient for becoming part of the team.
Recap or outline any obligations.
Make note of any key information and enclose welcome packs or programs if warranted.
